On the Gaming PC this month we have a Sunset…
This is a screenshot from the game Fishing Planet. I haven’t played this game in a long time but loaded it on the current pc at the end of January. If you want a relaxing game that doesn’t cost anything and can be played using just keyboard and mouse then Fishing Planet is worth a look. Be aware that it loads from Steam so that will need to be loaded on you machine also. There are lots of add on packs that do cost money but they just give you short cuts and special skins to equipment that is already available for in-game currency as you play. Why not give it a try and while away an hour or so on the bank enjoying virtual nature. ps – there is a pay version called The Fisherman – Fishing Planet. That was an unsuccessful attempt to move from a live service game to a ‘DLC add-on’ model. Unlike The Hunter which transitioned successfully, The Fisherman did not and that version of the game is no longer getting updates. So stick with the free version!
On to the Photo PC where I have an old photo from 2015…
…Taken from Stratford Walk adjacent to the London Aquatics Centre, it shows 86627 and 86609 on a westbound Intermodal service passing Carpenters Road North Junction. In the background, a mix of housing and office development was being built on the site of the old Stratford Railway Works – part of major redevelopment of the area continuing on from the London 2012 Olympics. The Freightliner Class 86’s are now a distant memory. Having been retired back in 2021, they’ve been exported to Bulgaria for further service!
