I missed Clare’s Share Your Desktop last month due to some computing issues but with most things now working again, here’s my current desktop…

A view of Ballards Lane in Church End with Metroline’s DEM1349 turning into Long Lane on the 382 from Millbrook Park. This part of Finchley has always been known as Church End to locals as, historically, residents of the village of East Finchley had to walk all the way up Long Lane on a Sunday to attend St Mary-at-Finchley church. Of course it was farmland back then 😉 The 382 bus route is relatively new in London terms – first operated in 2003 as part of the then London Mayor’s policy that no one should have to walk further than 400yds to catch a bus. It has proved to be a popular route since its inception.

  1. I did mis you, Martin, and am so please to see you back this month. I adore this view of Finchley – it proves to be a place to visit. Thank you for sharing with me and (once again) joining in on the SYD fun 😊 I hope all those computer problems are behind you.

    1. The PC issues are not entirely resolved but I can work around them. I certainly intend to be sharing my desktop again in January. Glad you found this shot interesting 🙂

    1. I don’t think Ballards lane has changed much, just the traffic – Glad I brought back some memories Becky 🙂
