Nancy’s theme this week is Livestock. Here are a couple of shots from my archive.

  1. I love the sheep. All I could think of while viewing the photograph was all the yarn that he has on his body for me to knit with. LOL Such a cute face too.
    Nice captures ….

    1. There’s a story behind that shot. Having just climbed over a stile on the footpath we stopped to eat a banana and were promptly surrounded by sheep. Whether it was just curiosity or they liked the smell of the bananas, I don’t know. 🙂

      1. Ha Ha …. I can’t imagine a sheep eating bananas. But, it looks like they have a curiosity. Fun story … thank you for sharing.

  2. I am such a “city dweller” that even looking at photos of sheep in their green homes makes me happy! I made the same initial observation as Isadora…”Look at all the gorgeous wool!” 🙂

    1. That wool has long since been shorn, Debra – The photo was taken back in 2007 🙂 We took a drive out to Stewkley and followed one of the circular walks that Buckinghamshire Council publish.

I spend much of my time in London but I’m very much a ‘Suburban Dweller’. I can walk from my house to where the Cows were photographed – it’s just 3.5 miles away and quite a bit of that would be on footpaths 🙂

  3. Both images are lovely and so wonderfully English! 🙂 After an encounter with SSS (seriously sinister sheep) in Northumberland, I don’t automatically think sheep are friendly and cuddly. Is she telling you to bugger off? 🙂

    1. LoL – She was just a little inquisitive as were the rest of the flock. We didn’t experience any ‘sinister’ behaviour. They’re probably used to people walking that footpath 🙂

I once had to side step a running cow on the footpath beside the railway at Oxford. That was frightening!

  4. Your last picture looks like a painting. Birds in the air and cattle on the ground, well balanced.

    1. Thank You 🙂 Originally I took that for one of Cee’s B&W challenges! For this colour version I adopted a slightly different crop.

  5. Wonderful photos. The bottom one looks so serene and pleasant, just an afternoon in the country. 🙂 Thanks for joining the challenge!
