For Pilgrims visiting Montserrat Monastery there are three modes of transport. Traveling up from the valley below they can use the Cable Car…
Or they can use the Rack Railway…
The summit of the mountain or the shrine can be reached by Funicular Railway…

  1. So, which way would you recommend?

    1. Rack Railway – I’ve not been a fan of cable cars since I saw ‘Where Eagles Dare’ 😉 Funicular’s are ok too.

      1. It just looks a bit steep 🙂

      2. Wow, that’s really neat but I confess anytime I see a train that makes an incline I always have this fear of it slipping backwards. Irrational I know, but I can’t help but think it.

      3. That’s what the Rack in the middle of the track is for 😉 Don’t worry I have my own irrational fears 🙂

      4. Oh, ok, I figured there was probably something in place which is why the train manages to get people places safely every day.

  2. Oh Ed, I love your entry this week. 😀

    1. Thanks Cee – Best wishes, Martin
