   You managed to find quite a few buses/trains sporting a purple scheme, Martin. Well done.

   PS, the town just to our north is Enfield, but no soccer team to speak of.

      Uno – operators of the bus at the top – was originally the University of Hertfordshire student transport. They saw the opportunity to take on public services when buses were deregulated. They now run most services around St Albans and some other services too. They currently operate our local 383 route but those vehicles are painted red because it’s a Transport for London route.

      Enfield Town are around 7 miles north east of us which makes them our nearest neighbours this season. We’ve lost so many local rivals to relegation recently, Potters Bar being the latest at the end of last season. Enfield Town have just dropped back to our level after a season in the league above.
