Groceries are the target for this week’s Fun Foto Challenge – Though I’m going to stretch the point beyond the shelves 😅

Market’s are places to pick up some good food, sometimes at a good price though I think you probably pay a premium if you choose to shop in Borough Market…

…Ridley Road market is probably better value and you’ll be battling your way past locals rather than tourists 😅…

…And some markets are temporary – Cheeses on sale at a pre-Christmas market in Finchley…

Mini-Marts sell a mix of foods – Here’s one in Mile End…

…and another in Croydon…

While they supply fresh food, supermarkets tend to have a wide range of frozen foods – Iceland have made that their stock-in-trade…

Alongside the fresh and frozen foods many supermarkets sell loose prepared foods. Here a customer is buying Paella from one such counter in the Canet-en-Roussillon Hyper Casino…

Of course, all that food has to get to the shop somehow. At the same Hyper Casino, a Janval DAF makes a delivery…

…Most UK supermarkets have liveried fleets for this work – a Waitrose Scania waits outside their Mill Hill store for the delivery area doors to be opened…

Tesco, the UK’s largest retailer, have gone one step further having their own network of rail services connecting their hubs throughout the country. The motive power is supplied by Direct Rail Services – Here we see 66428 with a ‘Tescoliner’ passing through Willesden Junction…

  1. I love the variety in your collection. Great photos, and all places to buy groceries (or supply them) so it all works. Thanks for joining us and making it interesting.

    1. Thanks Dan 😎👍 We get organic fruit & veg delivered but as they arrive very early in the morning I haven’t photo’d their van 😅

      1. I’ll bet the the fruit and veggies are pretty good.

      2. Yes, they’re generally good. But the fruit and veg from Waitrose is usually good too 😎👍

  2. Fabulous variety Martin 😀 When I am overseas I shop where the locals shop not in the hyped up tourist places. I was wondering when the delivery trucks would get into the post 😂 but the train was a surprise

    1. Thanks Brian 😎👍 You’ve seen the Tescoliner’s before in several of my trainspotting posts – I guess the connection wasn’t obvious without context.

      1. I guess I have for sure Martin. The link made it more obvious 😀
