A funny month on the farm – No field work to do as we’re caught on the cusp of harvest time and all our fields are full of growing crops. There’s not a lot we can do for our animals either. So this month began with some work for other farmers – Hoeing out the weeds for example…

…with a hired John Deere 6R. Then we were exterminating with herbicide where necessary. After that there were some fertilizing jobs to do – A job for the Kubota…

Sometimes as we go about our work we get some nice images – Our Kubota sitting in a Sunflower field…

At this point I was trying to rebuild our bank balance – we still needed to buy equipment! Remember from the last post – New Baler needed so I can do Silage bales for selling. The idea was to trade in my Goweil baler for the next model up in the series. That went pear-shaped when I loaded up some bale wrap to the newly purchased machine…

…Is that a bug or what??? Giants Software informed via a Bluesky post. So, instead, I got a John Deere baler. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to handle Silage additive despite having a tank in the area where I’d expect a Silage additive tank to be – Another bug perhaps? We’ll go with it!

With little to do on my farm I carried on working for my neighbours and bringing in the money…

An update to the game dropped during this period and I got to try out one of the Versatile tractors…

…Looks a lot like a Kubota – Ah! Seems they are in partnership!

The end of the second week of June saw the region inundated with hailstorms…

…and I feared for my crops as they neared harvest time. The next day I reviewed the damage – some Oats lost and also some grass…

But I subsequently found more crop loss in other fields – not all down to hail then, just natural losses where the germination failed maybe. This is a new feature of Farming Sim 25 – crop damage and crop failure. It’s a welcome addition of realism to the game.

One good thing in the 3rd week of June, I bought a Slurry Transport. Just as well really as the pit was beginning to stink a bit…

…That’s earning around €300 per load so 10 trips will see it pay for itself 😅

With some sun finally, I checked out the cows and decided I should make some more Total Mix Ration so we were ready for when the current batch ran out…

…In goes the Hay to join with the Straw and here’s the Silage to make the mix balanced…

The Cows are now producing a lot of Milk – more than my Fromagerie can use so I delivered some to the local supermarket! My first dairy sale – I’m sure there will be many more to come as milk production seems to be on the up. Clearly I’m looking after my girls too well!..

…And it seems they appreciate it…

…Never felt so safe in a field of burgers on the hoof 😅 I should add that I bought another set of beehives – There’s money to be made from Honey with little work.

June was a quiet month but July won’t be as there will be crops to harvest and sown in a very short period of time. See you then! 😎👍

  1. The work involved never seems to end, but you seem to manage everything very well.

    1. Hi Dan – Yes, there’s always lots to do in Farming Simulator! Fortunately I have several years experience of virtual farming so, apart from various new bugs, I usually know roughly what I’m doing 😅👍

      1. Do you have any real experience? It would seem hard to learn without some.

      2. Nope – I’m a retired telephone engineer 🤣 There are lots of tutorials both in game and on YouTube so you can normally find a ‘how to’ for just about anything.
