Alasdair shares music with me regularly – we discuss and I tell him what I like and don’t like in a manner that I hope is constructive. Much of what he listens to is electronically produced music on you-tube and it’s amazing how much is out there that will never be on the chart shows. Here’s a couple that I enjoyed. I think it’s good for us both Patti. You’ll gather he likes Drum & Bass among other things – so I dug out the Roni Size 😉
I think the first one is more to my taste, but the second is really a lot of fun as well. It’s a new concept to me to think of finding new musical artists on Youtube, but I really shouldn’t be surprised. I really enjoy the Piano Guys, and I think they started on Youtube. It’s a very nice way for father-son to spend time together and to share a musical discussion adds to you both, I’m sure!
Hi Debra, yes it’s good for us to share especially as he is studying music at school. They’re moving into Blues and Jazz next term, so I’ll have to dig out Dave Brubeck and Albert Collins among some others for him to sample. Actually, I’ve got a very nice album called Together – Paul Desmond and Chet Baker 🙂
