Can’t say I appreciate these markings on the pavement. They do not wash off and they are a little ugly.

Hi Colline – they disappeared as a direct result of the planned work – there’s no sign today that they were ever there. But I know exactly where you’re coming from – I wouldn’t be too happy if these were permanent… Legalised Graffiti !

We have many of them in this city that stay on the pavements permanently 😦

That’s not good 😦 I think a lot of our utilities companies and their contractors use water-soluble paints for this work now – but I expect that the rain may take a few months to completely remove it.
