First day at secondary school for Alasdair…
…A somewhat wistful expression before going in?

it is hard being the youngest in secondary school … after being the biggest in primary school!
It would be normally Christine, but not in this case – it’s a brand new school and they are the first intake so they will always be the seniors!
That’s a great position to be in.
that is an awesome experience … my husband had that too and was School Captain for three years in a row … no-one to follow so they had to learn to be leaders 🙂
He does look a bit apprehensive. Hope it went well for him. 🙂
Thanks Sylvia. He’s seems ok this evening – sounds like they had a good day 🙂
Yes! The wistful look and the pose! 🙂 I hope Alasdair has a wonderful school year!
Thanks Debra – He’ll have to work hard 😉
Oh this is definitely a special and unforgettable moment. The excitement and of the overpowering nervousness. 🙂
Great pic.
Thank you so much Nandini 🙂
Alasdair has a somewhat uncertain expression. Maybe he’d rather be somewhere having fun rather than at school. I guess the 1st day at a new school would be rather daunting.
He can’t complain too much Tony as he was given the chance to choose which school he went to and he wanted to go here. I think he liked the Headmaster – visible in the background and making a point of greeting all his pupils with a hand shake on the first morning. He was doing the same again today!
What a nice gesture on his part to make the students feel welcome. Sounds like a caring man
Just reading through the comments, Martin…
I’m very happy to hear that Alasdair had a good first day! I hope the remainder of the year goes just as well for him!
🙂
Thanks Bob – He’s adjusting to the longer school day and having homework to do most evenings! Getting him to bed early has never been easier – I guess he’s finding it tiring 😉
Such a quiet picture to contain so much emotion —
Congratulations to the young man, and to his folks.
(That headmaster looks okay.)
Thanks Judith – I think the Headmaster will be running a very well organised school 🙂
