From My Archive I Choose…

U is Uno…

Originally set up to provide student transport for the University of Hertfordshire, Uno now operates an extensive network of services in Hertfordshire and into North London for use by the general public. The companies vehicles are instantly recognisable in their pink and purple colourscheme and make a change from the sea of red to be found throughout London’s suburbs on Transport for London controlled routes. You can catch up with their Information and Timetables here.

StAlbans Station

    1. LoL – I heard they were now the Dis-United Nations Organisation 😉 I could have scanned a Radio Contact Confirmation card I have from them 🙂

  3. Whoa! Reminds me of Swinging London — those were the days, and obviously on some roads, still are! Can’t miss those babies —

    1. Yes, they are a bit bright aren’t they Judith. My wife doesn’t like the colourscheme but I’m ok with it 🙂

  4. A wonderful choice for ‘U’, and as always a wonderful post overall. I’ve enjoyed browsing your city streets, admiring the UNO bus. 🙂

    1. Thanks Marcy – I had Umbrellas, Underground, etc but guessed they would have already been covered 😉

      1. Ah, but walking that extra mile, renders you U-unique. 🙂

  5. Very ingenious! Love these U photos. 🙂 The pink Uno vehicles are very striking indeed. 🙂

  6. Not only is it perfect, but it’s fun! Who doesn’t love a pink bus?

Wow – it would be difficult to ‘miss’ those buses, wouldn’t it?!
    🙂

    1. Hi Bob – I’m sure there are other Londoners who have no idea either… If you’re not in an area where they work why should you 🙂 It has been suggested to me that passengers need to choose their clothes well to avoid a color clash 😉
