Spirals…
Tree Fern and Spiral Stairs in the Palm House at Kew Gardens.

I really love the spiral staircase, and the round fern tree perfectly compliments the picture..
Thank you Sheetal 🙂
Beautiful shot my friend. The spiral stairway close to the giant fern are just perfect for one memorable photo. have a great day. Best wishes to your family.
Thank you my friend. Hope you have a great day too. Best wishes to you and yours 🙂
Great shot. Both the tree & spiral stair case are beautifully captured. Very thoughtful interpretation of this week’s challenge.
Thanks Arindam – I’m lucky I stumbled across this in my archive 🙂
I love the perspective on this and how your two subjects compliment each other. Great photo!
Thanks Marcy
Man imitating nature – very nice image!
Thank you – It’s interesting how many plants grow their leaves in a spiral like that 🙂
very good similarity to two very different subjects. I like this picture and the take on theme. Lovely Capture. 😉
Thanks Gerry 🙂
As everyone has already mentioned, I really like the comparison between the ‘bult’ and the ‘natural’ here… very nicely done, Martin!
We have a very similar place near us (a large indoor garden / green house called ‘The Jewel Box) where my wife and I had our wedding reception. It has some really nice palms in it, too – and even a spiral staircase (although not nearly as ‘tall’) leading to a small balcony (if I’m remembering correctly). For a while I thought you might have snapped this one in St. Louis!
😉
LoL Bob – sounds like a great place to hold a wedding reception. We had ours in the Trades Union Congress hall with its murals of the workers and their struggles as a back-drop 🙂
Brilliant!
But one subject, two interpretations.
(I’ve been having my “issues” with this challenge — not sure I see it as valid.)
Hi Judith – you see one subject, I see two subjects with similarities of form that compliment each other. I guess that illustrates your point about the challenge – it’s very open to different interpretations 🙂
That luscious fern looks almost as though it is reaching out to embrace the staircase. Fantastic shot, Martin!
Hi Patti – they’ve got some carniverous creepers elsewhere that do just that. Dont think that they’ve embraced any visitors… but you never know 😉
Martin, this is a stellar shot and great for the challenge!
Thank you Margie 🙂
That looks primordial . . . except for the guy on the stairs . . . and the stairs. 😆
How do you know the guy’s not a dinosaur like me 😉 Thanks for popping in and giving me a smile Nancy 🙂
His camera gave it away . . . I knew this was NOT Jurassic Park. 😉
Hang on… They had sniper rifles and electric fences in Jurassic Park – Kew Gardens can’t afford those to keep the predatory tourists away 😉
I just wanted to see if you were awake . . .
I meant the Jurassic ERA . . . not Jurassic Park (the scary playland for mad scientists). 😀
LoL – Birds never sleep – and presumably dinosaurs didn’t either… I’ve always got one eye open 😉
Thank you Amar 🙂
Great entry Martin! Beautiful capture of the tree fern and spiral stairs. I also see two people in the shot. Really like the nicely balanced composition.
Hi Theresa – sorry I missed your kind comment. Having trouble keeping up with things over the last few weeks. Thank you for your thoughts on the composition 🙂
Wow, this is a beautiful and fascinating photo!! 🙂
Thank you Cathy 🙂
I love the movement in this photograph
Thank you 🙂
Kate featured The Palm House today . . . and I recognized the spiral staircase thanks to your introduction. Here’s hers:
Ahhh! Kew Gardens 😀
