  3. And well done on the badges!

    1. Thanks – Just the standard leaders badges Patti – I’ve got myself roped into assisting at the local Cub Pack.

  4. amazing colour thread!

    1. It’s a little warmer than in the real world – I boosted the colour a little but it’s not that far out and I’d guess that some of it is down to getting in very close! Thanks for dropping by 🙂

      1. was a pleasure dropping by, I’ll be coming back again and again now!

      2. Thanks – ps. Love your subscript ‘My degree didn’t come with a map’ 🙂 A microcosm of life then 😉

    1. Thank you Ruth 🙂

    1. As noted above, it’s a little warmer than in the real world – I boosted the colour a little but it’s not that far out and I’d guess that some of it is down to getting in very close! Thanks for dropping by 🙂

      1. I understand….you did a great job! Anytime!

  5. Stunning photo Martin! Great idea for the challenge!

    1. Thanks Theresa – the subject immediately suggested the photo, possibly because I’ve got a lot of sewing to do ready for St. Georges Day Parade! 🙂

  6. Simple but very creative. Clever even. I love this entry!

    1. Thank you rommel 🙂

  7. Marvelous!!! I love it!

Nice interpretation! What are the badges for?

    1. Thank you Michael. These are just standard Scout badges that we wear on our uniforms. The purple one (out of focus) in the photo is the standard Scouting membership badge worldwide though the colours and basic design may change in different countries. Thank you for dropping by and asking the question 🙂

You’re welcome! I notice you’re a football (soccer) fan. I just upgraded my cable TV and now I get a lot of football but I don’t know which teams to like and which teams not to like! Any suggestions?

      2. Well Michael.. you aren’t going to see my team (or the others who play at our level on the box!) , you either join the masses and pick a team that you can see on TV or you decide to go to lower-league matches which don’t appear on TV. I can’t tell you who you should support – watch them play and decide who you like best is perhaps the best suggestion I can give. Or decide to be a permanent neutral and just enjoy the game for what it is 🙂

  9. Great entry for the theme Martin Excellent shot 🙂

  10. Marvelous entry! wonderful color and composition.

    1. Thank you Susan 🙂

  11. I remember my late granny because of your vivid photo there. See, I usually do that for her because she can see through the needle’s little hole.

    1. Glad I brought back some nice memories for you Sony 🙂 I struggled to get the thread through the eye of the needle as well 😉

  12. Stunning! They say life is like passing through a needle. Not easy but worth it. Have a great day my friend. Best wishes.

    1. Thank you – you have a great one too – best wishes to you and yours 🙂

  13. exquisite, wonderful shot, i remember those days with sons in scouts 🙂

    1. Thanks Christine 🙂 I went through Cubs, Scouts and Ventures then I lost touch when I went to work. Now my Son is in Cubs and I’ve joined up as Assistant Leader.

Meant to comment on your Magpies yesterday but got distracted…

  14. Oh my! Brilliant.
Technically too — but the concept!

    1. Hi Judith, Thanks 🙂 I just had the materials to hand – so to speak!

  15. Great shot, Martin!
And I’m thoroughly impressed with the set-up, too (probably would have taken me hours to thread that thing)!
    🙂

    1. LoL – you think it didn’t take me hours Bob! 😉 Thanks – I thought of this the moment I saw the challenge. Just needed the space and time to set the shot up.

  16. Perfect focus on the needle Martin. I can’t see needle eyes that well even with my glasses on.

    1. I know what you mean Tony – I struggle to see them with my glasses. But with the Camera and a proper macro lens it’s no problem 🙂

I must apologise for not responding sooner. Thank you very much for nominating me for this award. Unfortunately, I made my blog an award free one as I never find the time to fully participate in the process. Therefore, I must decline your generous offer. Please don’t be put off by this – you will find that I’m not the only person on WordPress who has had to make this difficult decision.
