Curiosa & curiosa. What a lovely bird. I adore birds of all sorts from brightly coloured parrots to the humble sparrow they are all beautiful to me.
Me too Tony – I always feel that birds can never be truly your own like dogs but they don’t use you like cats. I’m really happy at the moment as after around 10 years without any Sparrows we now have a flock of around 20 feeding outside my window each day. I love Sparrers – wonderful characters:-) But we get several species of Tit through the garden. Very pleased to see Long Tailed Tits again today – always remind me of candy-floss on a stick! That’s a quite lovely crow shot! They’re not all that easy to shoot … in all their blackness. I watched a nature programme last year, about crows, and after that I can never look at them the same way again..

Thanks for the link Rebekah – Crows are one of the sharpest tools in the bird box 🙂 Tit’s are also very clever.
I keep budgies as pets and they can be clever when they want to be – each is an individual and they all react to us differently. I can remember one who used to wrestle with my mothers Knitting needles as she was trying to knit! Female budgies tend to be more forward than their male counterparts – I suspect they are more territorial 😉
Sadly – the video is a victim of ‘Rights Restrictions’ – now isn’t that just what we’re protesting about!!!
that’s sad … I had not even checked it, as I’d seen the programme quite recently. It’s restricted here in Canada too! Grr..

not ME… The Magpie 🙂 ) it snapped
off a twig to use as a tool… It was
busy preening its feathers, and as
their wings are rather broad it had
the brain wave of using the twig
to extend its reach, now how about
that for a clever bird 🙂
