Cold Comfort
A cheaper storage option than the Big Yellow across the road 😦

Funny! 🙂
Glad it gave you a giggle 🙂
Comfy and alone. A peaceful comfort. 🙂
Not too peaceful – That’s the busy North Circular Road behind 😉 Thanks for popping by 🙂
Haha…love it! What a great idea!
Thanks Josette – one from the archives 🙂
That’s really funny!
Thank you 🙂
Funny. I love it 🙂
Thanks – and yes, that really is frost on the cushion 🙂
If this once comfortable chair stays in its current location for very long, it will become a comfortable home for small critters… mice, roaches, etc. Great pic!
Hi Theresa – Thank you 🙂 It didn’t stay long, I think it was gone within a few days.
maybe its the great escape lol from self storage sofa it hasnt made it lol aww bad joke good pic xxjen
Thanks Jen 🙂
What some people won’t do to get hits on their blog! Seriously, best ‘comfort’ picture yet.
LoL – I didn’t have a blog when I took this but that’s an interesting thought 😉 Thanks for the kind comment 🙂
Reminds me of the “Executive” seating out at the old Plough Lane Stadium! 🙂
Perhaps I should have dragged it up the A1000 to The Abrahams Stadium 😉 The officials and visitors seating is hard wooden benches! Always sad to see a famous old football ground or railway station disappear. Our near neighbours Hendon FC used to play at Claremont Road which is now in a bad state of disrepair awaiting redevelopment 😦 Thanks for popping by and commenting Patti 🙂
Very good, but what a throwaway society we live in. Hope someone at least got a sit down!
Thanks Gilly – I find the ‘dump it’ approach a bit annoying, especially as the council recycling place is less than 1/2 a mile from here. Anyway, Transport for London must have removed it on a night time maintenance run, it was gone a few days later.
The soundtrack to go with Cold Comfort… Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb? 🙂
Now that’s an idea 🙂
Great Shot,Totaly murder sofa kidding:)
Thanks Jake 🙂
nice framing…this reminds me of one of the latest episodes of The Big Bang Theory. looks so inviting, but could be biting! (smile)
Thanks Yi-Ching Lin 🙂 I’ll have to check out that program!
😀 fantastic response, Martin!
(I wouldn’t sit on it…..)
Thanks Kate – No, you’d get a cold wet bum 😉
Hey it’s not that bad – a little clean up, maybe a new cushion…
BTW – thanks for subscribing to my blog. Glad to have you along.
Np Donna, glad to follow the action.
I bet the chair’s in a council depot somewhere now providing dozing accommodation for the workers 😉
That is a vagabonds dream …. !!!!!
Love it ….
Isadora
Funny you should mention vagabonds Isadora – there is a small camp made by a ‘Gentleman of the Road’ in a copse on the Glebelands not very far from here 🙂
Yes that chair has most certainly seen
some better days and evenings my friend 🙂
Have a wicked Thursday now…
Androgoth
You have a good one too – Thanks for dropping in 🙂
LOL, too funny! Unfortunately, this is the kind of “comfort” this world often offers…
Great photo–and story. 🙂
Thanks Sheila, glad it gave you a laugh 🙂
Makes you wonder how things just get there….
It does… I don’t even know that it was left by someone passing on the A406 – it could equally have been dumped from a house on Pointalls Close. I just wish that people would dispose of things responsibly. Thanks for dropping in and commenting 🙂
it’s nice to have a house …
greetings by
LoL – Yes it is 🙂
What a strange place to find a lounge chair. That is a comment sight here in some of the public housing estate areas. If they don’t have a wrecked car on the front lawn it’s a lounge chait instead, or a car seat..
LoL Tony – sounds like the Grange estate when I was a kid. It’s not so bad now though – in fact it’s quite tidy but they do have the occasional drug related killing instead 😦
I think I’d rather the car wreck on the front lawn
I’ve got a car wreck on my front concrete – oops, no it’s a Peugeot 😉 I agree Tony.
After a long walk, assuming I don’t have a car, this chair would be a great, comfortable relief to my aching legs and feet. Wonderful subject that brings out comfort in a very interesting way. Have a great day!
Thanks – it wouldn’t have been very comfortable – that’s frost on the seat 😉
cheap and looks real comfortable!
LoL 😉
There’s something vaguely “King of the Hill” about this photo.
I must admit that I don’t watch that program but from the trailers, I think I know where you’re coming from 🙂
Great capture and find!!!
It’s amazing what you find on a morning’s walk 😉
I love coming across stuff that just seems strangely out of place!
What a find (and capture), Martin!
Wonderful!
🙂
Thanks Bob 🙂
The photo is effortlessly funny. BWAHAHAHA
Thanks Rommel – It was such an unlikely place to find a chair that I just had to take it 🙂
