Taking the opportunity to catch up with Brian’s Last on the Card Challenge today as the football has been rained off.

A not very inspiring shot taken with the Moto g50 on January 17th at Havant…

…It tells of a tree on the tracks and a cancelled train. This was taken on the way home from Chichester after our football game there and the full tale was recounted in my Spotting post that week. The photo could have been used as evidence for a Delay-Repay claim but as I gained 3 new sightings and some additional haulage from the resulting diversion, I really didn’t think the railway owed me anything πŸ˜…

Last on the Card from the Fuji X-H2s was actually taken on January 31st at our home game against Ramsgate – A game that we conspired to lose 1-0…

Last on Card JAN26 X-H2s

…Not only was that Last on the Card, it was also my last football photo for a while as the following Tuesday’s game was called off for waterlogged pitch and today’s match has suffered the same fate. I have serious doubts that a game due next Tuesday will go ahead and it’s beginning to look like there will be serious fixture congestion towards the end of the season. With the club teetering on the brink of being in the relegation zone, this is a bad situation as it compounds the pressure on the players and coaching staff.

The rain combined with my ongoing recovery from a viral infection meant not much happening on the railway front until yesterday but I do at least have some shots for a Spotting post, so see you all soon πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

  1. I do hope you’ll feel better soon Martin. The weather in Europe is foul at the moment.
A very uninspiring notice board and a sad end to the season of football. I hope we don’t get relegated.
    Thanks for joining in πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Brian πŸ‘ I’m feeling much better but my good lady is currently suffering… I’m one of those football fans who wants the team to do well but always accepts that relegation is a real possibility. The club’s survival is more important than what division we play in. Most of the clubs around us and my fellow footie photters would say we’ve been playing a long way above our weight for the last 11 seasons. It has become much harder this season as several clubs from higher divisions got relegated to ours and, with their higher budgets, raised the cost of staying afloat at this level. It will always be a mix of good stewardship and good luck that keeps a team competitive but sometimes without the money it’s not possible. Still a couple of months to go – I have faith in our Manager and Chairman… I know they will do their utmost πŸ‘

      1. Funding teams will always be an issue unless a wealthy benefactor turns up
