Middle of the month and time to join in with Clare’s Share Your Desktop Challenge. Clare’s running a little late which worked out well for me as I wasn’t ready to go on the 16th when I would normally try to take part 🤣👍
Lets start with the Mobile phone as that desktop has been updated to show a shot of Class 455 unit 5911 taken at Waterloo in August…
…I have shown this shot before but it is now the Moto g50 desktop. I may keep that until these are finally out of service.
Moving on to the Gaming PC and this month’s Desktop is a shot from Way of the Hunter. There are several hunting games on the PC, of which this one and The Hunter – Call of the Wild are the best. Ultimately, I have decided that Way of the Hunter with its Herd Management style of play is the right one for me going forwards. IRL I don’t approve of Big Game Trophy Hunting. This game, however, sets you up more as a warden culling animals to improve the overall condition of the herds in the reserve. Here’s the image from the game…
…A young Rocky Mountain Elk seen through the scope of my rifle. There is a story behind this screenshot. I initially saw this animal walking along a stream upwind of me in open country. Crouched down in cover I was able to watch him walk slowly by just 20 metres from me, unaware of my presence. This image was captured later in the day when I had circled around exploring a patch of woodland. I became aware of his presence when I heard his steps although I wasn’t sure it was the same animal until I was able to get closer by which time he could smell my scent as I was now upwind of him! You can see him sniffing the air 65m away. This being a young animal, I’m not worried about his 1-star rating as he has a lot of growing to do. He looks to have nicely balanced antlers which suggests he has good genes. All of which mean that I do not intend to shoot him. So why, you may ask, am I targeting him with my rifle? Because Rocky Mountain Elk can be volatile and there’s every possibility he may decide to charge me. In those circumstances I would have to shoot in self-defence! Fortunately, he opted to quietly stroll away with regular glances over his shoulder 😎👍
On the Photo PC I have a shot taken on September 4th at Leicester Square station…
…This is on the northbound Northern Line platform and shows one of the 1995 stock units, 51514, arriving as passengers wait. Going to High Barnet, that’s the train home for Epi and me after a busy day’s eternity ring-shopping😎👍
