I’m starting a new game in FS25 using a mod-map based on the real world village of Pallegney in the Lorraine region of France. This map looks beautiful and, on an initial look the farming will provide a good mix of variety and some wonderful vistas to enjoy. Here’s the map in its entirety…
…And the actual farm, with the village, in close-up…
I own those fields with their numbers highlighted in green – 92 & 90 at the top which are grass fields, along with 19, 21, 31 & 103 which are arable fields currently growing a mix of Canola and Wheat.
The village itself is typically French with the Mairie and Church central…
The farm itself is quite distinctive…
…and has its own Fromagerie though I doubt we’ll be making any to sell very soon! It has a number of buildings inside, around a central yard, that are tightly packed together so using large machinery could be a challenge. Fittingly then we start with a Claas Arion 470 – a compact 155hp tractor – and the venerable John Deere 3655 with 116hp…
There’s a lot of other basic equipment already there too like the baler, seeder and mower sharing the barn in the shot above. The farm has its own silo bins, a cow shed and a chicken barn – there are even some chickens present although no Cockerels (I rectified that deficiency immediately!). There is also a good supply of seeds and lime, along with a spreader, to get us started. We have a Harvester too – the Claas Evion 450…
…with a Vario 620 header and a trailer – We’re probably going to need to trailer the header everywhere because of the lack of room through the country lanes.
So we have most of what we need but I do think we’ll need a more powerful tractor for ploughing and I think that will be our first buy. I took a quick trip around the farm in the pick-up. Here’s a view of field 92…
…and a view across fields 19 & 21…
…They’re quite compact and will be a bit of a challenge to work with the nearby village walls and the stream.
So, with that basic introduction, I think we’d better get the harvest in! Here’s the Evion getting stuck in on field 103 with the viaduct carrying the railway across the valley in the distance…
…And the harvested wheat being loaded into our Rudolph trailer…
I have a lot of work to do this August, so I’ll leave the story there… 😎👍
