It’s a lonely house at the moment. Epi is in Zimbabwe for the funeral and burial of her Brother. Alasdair is in Leicester being the young man and hopefully treating his girlfriend in an appropriately loving manner. That leaves me in the house…
Normally, I’d be out and about – lots of trains to enjoy. But because of the need for there to be a reliable contact in the UK during the funeral, I’m at home. In the old days, I’d have had a Budgie or two for company but not since the last one passed on around 10 years ago now.
Instead, I’ve been watching some NCIS for its cheerful interactions…
And I’ve been keeping up with friends on Bluesky. It’s taught me that there are a lot of lonely people out there who are denied loving relationships by societal prejudices. Prejudices that are being massively stoked by the owner of one social media site and by persons granted power in what used to be a democracy that stood with and for the free world.
I’ve also looked at the situation in Europe and the UK. I think it’s time that we all understood that the US presence on our soil is no longer that of an ally, but a hostile force occupying land that belongs to us. A force that can no longer be viewed as beneficial to our defence. It has become time to tear up those leases and evict those who are now doing us harm from the aircraft carrier otherwise know as the UK / Europe.
It’s amazing how much damage one politician can do to international relations in a few short weeks… I would never have been writing this in December last year… The war on Trolls has now become an IRL issue. I hope that my American friends understand my feelings on this. It is your problem to fix before it becomes a problem that no one can fix!
