Middle of January and time for me to join in with Clare’s Share Your Desktop Challenge. There’s really no excuse for not joining in with this one, so if you can, please take part!
My Gaming PC Desktop is sadly very relevant and more than a bit poignant…
…It shows Alice taking the slip off the I5 truck bypass up to Route 14 to take her cargo of roofing tiles to Mojave in California. This is just a few miles from the Hurst Fire, one of several that have destroyed many populated areas and caused a number of fatalities. As bloggers, we almost certainly know some of those affected – In my case, Debra, caught up in the Eaton fire and faced with helping neighbours that have lost everything. Climate change is real and it’s time we all got on board and faced off against the self-serving deniers – Musk, Trump, Farage, I’m looking at you!😡
The Photo PC has a less controversial scene…
…Taken on January 3rd we see Class 455 unit 5727 arriving at Wimbledon in bright sunshine. This unit should have long ago shrugged off its mortal coil and gone to make tin cans or other things… Instead it, and it’s fellow 455’s, is still providing much needed transportation for commuters and the rest of us. The replacement 701’s are slowly entering service. From a post by someone who is in the know on Bluesky I understand that 9 out of the 90 units are so far cleared for service! Which leaves me wondering if we’ll still be riding 455’s in 2026? 😅
No change to my mobile desktop, so that’s all folks! See you next month 😎👍
