We don’t tend to have a lot of barns and sheds around North London but I have three oldish buildings for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, all of them houses of a sort 😅
New End Hospital, Hampstead…
…Built in 1849-50 as a Workhouse under the Poor Law Act of 1834 to the design of H.E.Kendall. Over the 1860’s and ’70’s it changed use to become a hospital.
Kenwood House, Highgate…
…The original house on the site was built in 1616 but over time successive owners rebuilt, upgraded and expanded the building. The house we see today dates mainly to 1766, when it was remodelled by Robert Adam, but with some minor changes.
The Case is Altered, Eastcote…
…This public house has its origins in the 16th century. It has been much altered over time but retains some 17th century features inside.
