Middle of the month and time to join in with Clare’s Share Your Desktop Challenge πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

As usual, we start with the Gaming PC…

On Bure Valley Farm – I’ve hooked up the trailer to the Land Rover and loaded it with big bags of Lime ready to head off to our other yard in Little London. This was part of a spring clean I carried out in March – centralising my fertilizing and liming stores with the spreader at the Little London yard. Seeding and spraying stores and equipment will remain here. I think we’re overweight, but hopefully the Police won’t see me on the short trip down the B1354πŸ˜‰

On the Photo PC we have a bus; Horarios do Funchal 260 (AS-29-XA) – A Volvo B8R with Camo Urbis bodywork operating the 8 route…

Horarios do Funchal 260 (AS-29-XA) Rua Dr. Pita

Taken on 1st September during a holiday with Epi on Madeira. A mix of trees and hotels form the backdrop as the bus starts the long drag up Rua Dr. Pita towards Sao Martinho. This was normally our bus from the centre of Funchal back to our hotel. It’s a very steep climb and on this Sunday, we’d decided to walk it – Mad dogs and Englishmen time! The green area with the statue at the foot of the climb is Largo da Paz from which you can find where I am on Google maps. In the distance you can also see the replica vessel, Santa Maria de Colombo, and the Atlantic Ocean.

  1. Mad dogs and Englishmen time! made me laugh πŸ˜‚

    1. It’s a gain in elevation of 156m in 1.6km – doesn’t sound a lot but it’s pretty steep and with a temperature of 29C it was quite a workout. Good for our fitness! We tackled it in sections with short breaks in the shade. You’ll be hearing more from Madeira in my next Spotting post now I’ve finally caught up with the photos (Just in time for Clare!).

  2. Same, same. I’m laughing at your ‘Mad dogs and Englishmen time’ comment, but agree, that although the incline isn’t that much, that temperature exponentiates the effort 😊 Thank you so much for sharing these with me and, as usual, joining in on the SYD fun.

    1. Thanks Clare πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ I should add that I actually overtook a local who looked both younger and fitter than me! He was cursing the climbπŸ˜… But I then had to wait for Epi to catch up before continuing. My morning fitness walks are definitely doing the businessπŸ‘

      1. Isn’t it (always) a wonderful booster to your dopamine levels when you do that? I love my morning walks and the way they make me feel and set me up for the day ahead. πŸ₯°

  3. […] you to those who shared their desktops with me last month – Brian, Deb, Martin, and Cathy. As always, I appreciate you joining in on the SYD fun and look forward to seeing what […]
