Start of a new month and time to join in with Brian’s Last on the Card Challenge😎

Oldest photo taken early in the month on the Fujifilm XPro-2. This was taken on one of my more extreme exercise walks from Gospel Oak to home over Hampstead Heath. I made a good attempt at killing myself climbing straight up to the viewpoint on Parliament Hill, pushing my heart rate up to its max 160bpm. I don’t know how I managed the last few yards of the climb and was glad to sit on one of the benches at the top for a 2min recovery before setting off on the rest of my walk. Walking down The Bishops Avenue I was lucky to catch a shot of an H3 bus going up towards the Heath…

…This is an unusual London Bus route in that it only runs 7 times in each direction on weekdays and Saturdays starting from Golders Green and turning at East Finchley (Hilltop). The last service leaves Golders at 14:00 and returns from Hilltop at 14:25 – there are no more runs after that! Anyway, I think that walk proved very beneficial and opened the door to improving my general fitness😎 The bus photo was a great bonusπŸ‘

On a more relaxed ‘maintaining health’ walk I captured some local graffiti with the Moto g50…

The last shot was captured during my journey home from my spotting trip last Friday using the Fujifilm X-H2s…

…Taken at Clapham Junction, 450067 is working a service from Alton to Waterloo. It wears a special livery celebrating the contribution of Key Workers during the Covid pandemic. The Class 450’s are Siemens Desiro units. Operating on 750v DC they are capable of 100mph.

  1. I love the bus, what a cool shape. Interesting street art. The train looks like it’s coming straight out of the photo, fabulous.

Thanks for joining in Martin πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Brian πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

  2. Combining your interests with strenuous cardio exercise is great for you physically, but I think it likely stimulates some creativity, too. Each photo opportunity was very interesting!

    1. Thanks Debra πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ I now have a good routine (except when the weather is wet like this morning in London) – Monday is push hard day where I walk a set route in the morning at a very brisk pace aiming at getting my heart rate into the threshold / max area and thus improving my cardio. The rest of the week I aim for good aerobic and threshold ranges on some walks and sometimes it’s just a stroll. Trainspotting days are mainly about steps – lots of themπŸ˜… I’m thinking of having another Gospel Oak to home walk only this time I may opt for taking the circuitous walk up to Parliament Hill – avoiding the near 1 in 1 climbπŸ˜‚ Keep well Debra πŸ‘πŸ™

      1. You have created and adopted quite a healthy schedule. I have been a couch potato for the past couple of months and despite the way I feel, I really do have to get moving again! You are inspiring me to do better, Martin!

      2. The turning point for me was getting a Garmin Vivoactive 5. It’s got me doing challenges via the Garmin Connect website. I used to have a Fitbit but it never involved me quite like this! Go for it Debra πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
