  1. Well done, still managed to sneak a football photo in πŸ˜‚

Thanks for joining in Martin πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Brian πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ Our season has gone into extra time – we did beat Carshalton in the last game, making sure of a play-off spot. We travel to local rivals Enfield Town tonightπŸ™„ I’ll be going by train, so expect a report in my weekly Spotting postπŸ˜…

      1. Excellent πŸ‘πŸ€žπŸ˜€

  2. It never ceases to amaze me how many of our place names are from England. It shouldn’t amaze me, but it doesβ€‚πŸ˜‚ We lived in Brighton (in Brisbane) just s short drive from Margate and I’m sure the football they played was of a different kind.

    1. πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ‘ It’s similar in the US – Lots of English place names as well as French and Spanish. It’s nice when I drive through a place that has a clear Native American influenced name! Shoshoni in Wyoming comes to mind. Of course, some UK place names show their Saxon and Norman heritage. Finchley is a modern contraction of the Saxon Fynches Lea – which translates as Finches Clearing.
As for the football – It’s association rules over here (Look after the premier league and don’t give a *$%” about grass roots). Aussie rules is closer to Gaelic Football πŸ˜…

      1. We are big Aussie Rules fans, but like league and union too.

  3. I like the train shot. I really miss passenger trains since moving back home to Tasmania from the Big North Island (Australia) 20 years ago. I used to commute by train for work in both Sydney & Brisbane when I lived in those cities.

From memory I used to follow your blog years ago. I quit blogging way back & have just recently taken it up again. Saw your link on Bushboy Brian’s Last On The Card link up.

    Kind regards, Tony

    1. Hello Tony – Great to hear from youπŸ˜€πŸ‘Œ Hope you are well. I remember your cartoonsπŸ‘ My blog has moved on a little – you’ll find a weekly Trainspotting post which often diverges in some related things. And I usually join in with one of Cee’s challenges as well as Brian’s Last on Card and Clare’s Share you Desktop. There’s also a farming simulator series. I must pop over and see what you’re up to πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

      1. Great to hear from you too. There are many bloggers & Comic creators I used to follow who’ve given up on it. Nice to see you’re still keeping on with your blog. I’ve put your Blog into my RSS reader. Cheers, Tony
