The intention was to pick up where I left off. However, the computer / Steam Cloud had other ideas. When I fired up Farming Simulator 22 I found that my game save had disappeared, replaced by a very old Haut-Beyleron save! Quite why this has happened is uncertain – it could be that the major update issued by Giants Software invalidated the save. Equally, it’s possible that Microsoft Cloud is the culprit and, by extension, something I did. In the circumstances, I have had no choice but to restart my farming in the Saxthorpe area. I will be playing in the same way as I did originally so much of the first year may leave those readers who were on that journey with a sense of Deja vu, for which I apologise.

For new readers and those who want to recap the background to the area of the map, please refer to my original Welcome to Norfolk post. The Premium Expansion released back in November made some changes which affected precision farming and also brought new types of crops. If we take a quick look at the fields at the start of the game now, we can see the map looking a lot more colourful than in the past…

…with the new colours representing Beetroot, Carrots and Parsnips. Although these won’t affect my initial gameplay, it’s very likely that the progress of the new save will diverge slowly from the original one although I intend to stick as closely as possible to my original plans and play.

Like the first time in the map, I have used the month of August to set everything up and this would be a good time to read my Introduction to Bure Valley Farm as this will bring you up to speed on the work carried out, my current equipment and finances along with the decisions facing me at the end of August. Everything is currently as it was back then!

The team’s all ready, so lets farm…
