Middle of the month and time to catch up with Clare’s Share Your Desktop Challenge ππ
As usual, we have the Gaming PC first and this month a screenshot from American Truck Simulator which shows me heading south from Wichita to Laredo with an aircraft wing assembly.βThe sun is still below the horizon but it’s lighting up the clouds and showing off the recent improvements to the in-game skies that SCS Software have made with the v1.49 release…
…This is my Kenworth W900 – Named ‘Ranger’ after a US Aircraft Carrier because it has about the same turning circle as an aircraft carrierπ€£Unusually for my fleet, this truck has one of the largest available engines at 600HP and an 18sp manual gearbox – which means it’s a bit of a poser compared to my other trucks which have a more typical choice of power unit for the type of work my company specialises in (Farming and Construction plant and supplies).
On the Photo PC we have an image of a Central Line 1992 stock train arriving at Stratford…
…Taken on 14th November – a very wet day to be out and about on the rail network. Most passengers were glad of the chance to get on a warm train.βThe 1992 stock is 30 years old and it was rumoured that it would be replaced with new stock similar to the trains currently being built by Siemens for the Piccadilly Line.βHowever, cash-strapped post-covid Transport for London is now having these trains refurbished instead which means they will probably be in service for another 20 years.βThe first refurbished unit is currently on trial on the Woodford-Hainault section of the line.
