November in Osada – A quiet month of short days spent tidying up the loose ends of Autumn…

My plan for the first week was to mulch the Sunflower stalks in field 12 but when I got there I found that my Wheat in field 14 had sprouted. Unfortunately, so had a lot of weeds…

…I added weeding to the task list and got on with the mulching. Later in the week I returned with the weeder and we tiptoed gently through the growing crop…

…After which I gave the Wheat its first dose of fertilizer…

…which I hope soothed any ruffled leaves😅 I finished off the week ploughing a neighbour’s field on the other side of the main ditch…

…Beyond that horizon is a world of dragons – or maybe that’s me thinking of another game😜

The second week was more mulching – Field 3 on this occasion…

…Then I pottered about the farm, taking Honey to market and feeding the Chickens,,,

Week three and I was ploughing another neighbour’s field just across the track from field 3…

…I’d noticed it needed ploughing when I was mulching over there, so I was sort of expecting the job👍

The last week of the month and I spent it cultivating my previously mulched fields, 14 and then 3…

…with a view of the field I ploughed last week – I did a nice job of that if I do say so myself😅 Then it was time to tidy everything away in the yard…

…and batten down the hatches for the coming Winter. I don’t expect there to be much work to do over the next couple of months except feeding the Chickens and selling the grain we have stored. It must be time for an end of season review – an overview of the current state of my fields…

…From the top – 14 = Wheat 50% fertilized; 12 = Tilled ready for planting; 1 & 2 = Canola 50% fertilized; 3 & 40 = Tilled ready for planting. I’m currently planning Oats for 12, Barley for 3 and Corn for field 40👍And… If I earn enough money from my grain sales, I will probably buy field 15 in the Spring – although there are other possibilities too.

Next farming post will be from Saxthorpe where I expect the workload to be somewhat heavier😅
