In the first week of January, The City of London still slumbers. Streets that normally teem with office workers, out to get a lunchtime bite, are populated by a few hardy tourists and workers who service the offices. Commercial traffic consists of a few vans on deliveries and construction trucks. Otherwise, it’s just the buses and cabs out on the streets.
