When you live in North London you have the privilege of looking down across the capital from a number of vantage points…

The City from Parliament Hill Fields

  1. Last time I was in London, I stayed in Muswell Hill and enjoyed the same vistas. 🙂

    1. Wow! – well I’m glad to bring back some memories for you 🙂

  2. London is my dream city. Great to see a new view of the city that I didn’t know! Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Thanks for your kind comment 🙂 There must be plenty of views around the southern side of the capital too but I don’t know those myself.

  3. nice shots Martin, I had not heard of Muswell Hill until now 🙂

    1. Thanks Christine. Muswell Hill is the next ‘town’ to the east of East Finchley – it’s right next to Alexandra Palace which may help you place it 🙂

  4. Glorious views Martin and such wonderful light!

    1. Thanks Patti – We had a low pressure region giving a week or so of sunshine and showers and that gave the excellent visibility in these images.

  8. I am delighted with both views, Martin! They add some perspective to the geography that I found informative as well as beautiful!

    1. Thanks Debra – London sits in a ‘bowl’ between the Chilterns to the north and west and the North Downs to the south. It is the North Downs that you can see in the distance beyond the city, especially in the top photograph. They’re over the Thames in the county of Kent!
