  1. I enjoyed your collection of photos – gives you a nice sense of your city.

    1. Hi Colline – Thanks, though a couple of Mediterranean shots have crept in to confuse, The last three are definitely London 🙂

      1. They did confuse – thought it was maybe in the country 🙂

      2. LoL – I wish it was – it’d be a lot warmer than it is in London at the moment 😉 But I suspect it’s colder where you are!

      3. Minus 22 with the wind chill. Not pleasant. Though the snow is beautiful 🙂

  2. The windmill is my favourite!

  3. yes the windmill stands out but i love the london shots too, especially the tourists!

    1. Thanks Christine – those young ladies were moving at quite a pace, so I was lucky to be able to frame the shot successfully! Glad you liked it 🙂

  4. The depth in these is far ‘beyond’ ordinary, Martin!
I really like them all (incredible atmosphere all-around)… although that wonderful smile in your third image really grabs some attention!
    🙂

    1. LoL – that IS quite a smile in the middle 🙂 I’m not quite sure where the three young belle dames were from though I suspect Germany. They were clearly enjoying their walk 🙂

As for the depth – put it down to using a good quality lens and setting the aperture for the best resolution rather than depth of field. That’s usually somewhere around f5.6 to f10 depending upon the focal length of the lens. f8 – f9 work well for the Canon 24-70 L series though it’s pretty damn good at f5.6 too. All lenses have a sweet spot – you just have to find it 🙂

  5. Wonderful pics for the challenge. I love that first one. It seems like you were up on the roof taking it. 🙂

    1. Lol – there is a pedestrian area above that house that gives access to an important shrine so you can take views across the rooftops loking down to the coast. It probably looks better on a clear day 🙂

  6. Love your street photographs! 😀

    1. Thank you very much 🙂

  7. These are great photos of ‘beyond’, you have a beautiful city 🙂

    1. LoL Abby – London has its beautiful bits but the photographer has included some Spanish and French vistas in this post 😉 Thanks for the kind comment 🙂

  8. Gorgeous photos — and different from your usual style and subjects.
    Amazing versatility, Sir!

    1. That’s very kind Judith – whilst Transport is my main subject I do like to photograph many other things too 🙂
