wonderful take on the theme martin, terrific photos such as the bus and cinema, st pauls, and st pancras, somehow they fill me with delight, thanks for walking about at night and taking all these 🙂
Thank you Christine. I enjoy a night time walk with the camera. Central London is blessed with much that is illuminated 🙂

Nice selection!
Thank you 🙂
Some great illumination photos Martin. I like the way you captured the 2nd one. For some reason that one really stands out as special to me.
Thanks Tony – I like that one too. Perhaps it’s something about the way the taxi’s are circling like sharks in the street outside 😉
Wow… you make these challenges look easy, Martin!
🙂
I have a large back-catalogue Bob so there’s usually something there to fit most challenges. And I just love going out with the camera at all times of the day / night 🙂
It’s a very illuminating gallery! Well done!
LoL – Thank you 🙂
Some of the other photos have some lovely artistic effects, but I love the photo of St. Paul’s Cathedral. It even captures the spotlight coming up from the ground. Perfect for the weekly photo–Illumination!
Thank you Debra 🙂 Of course, St.Pauls was sometimes inadvertantly illuminated by searchlights during The Blitz but this time it’s deliberate 😉 I used to work in a place called Faraday Building – The square tower on the extreme left of the image is part of that building.
Your creativity is busting out big-time.
Wonderfully imaginative shots and captions.
But I would never ever recognize Piccadilly Circus. It looks more like Times Square than like London to me!
Thanks Judith – I have no idea which holds precedence… This is how Piccadilly has always looked to me. But it is the only part of London that has all those illuminated ads.
