I think that Children naturally display a freedom of spirit. Unburdened yet with the responsibilities of adulthood and retaining unrepressed imaginations, Children will turn anything into an opportunity. A cardboard box becomes a pirate ship: A biscuit tin, a treasure chest. The advent of electronic games has not taken this away – the batteries run out and normal service is resumed.

Picture a puddle; a large puddle. An adult will skirt around it or tread carefully through it but a child – even one who hasn’t seen ‘Singing in the Rain’ – will dance in it like a miniature Gene Kelly…
Dancing at Kew…Which leads me to comment that “There’s always something to do at Kew” even if it’s dancing in puddles outside the restaurant!

  8. You nailed my friend. Children are the best example of someone with a total free spirit. I would say that being a child was my happiest time as compared to adulthood. It’s a time of all play, all fun and no responsibilities. No wonder Peter Pan stayed in Neverland. Great post!

    1. Thanks 🙂 And your Son is certainly a free spirit too 🙂

  9. Wonderful moment, wonderful photo.

    1. He was disappointed this time – not a puddle to be seen and he’s just about grown out of chasing pigeons 😉

  14. Good capture, Martin! Nothing like splashing about to set our spirits soaring! 😀
